Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune’s 246-square-mile perimeter holds the cornerstone of the nation’s finest men and women. These are the best trained Marines and Corpsmen this side of the Mississippi.
Named after the great Lieutenant General John A. Lejeune in 1941, this "Home Of Expeditionary Forces In Readiness" is home to over 44,000 Marines, Navy and other supporting military and civilian organizations. On board this beautiful 153,439 acres you are given not only exceptional training but beautiful beaches, movies theaters, a bowling alley and an Exchange Mall. Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune is also located on the grounds along with a full-service commissary. Both service not only the active duty and their dependants, but our honored retirees as well.
The base housing areas are in the midst of a massive overhauling to create modern, efficient and beautiful homes for our military families.
For many, Camp Lejeune is a stepping off point to a great military career while, for others, it is a place to step down and pass the touch to another fine member of our nations military.
With its 14 miles of beaches, it is able to not only train our Marines on amphibious warfare, but give a pristine beach for families to play and picnic on. With the rental cabins and lodges, camp grounds, and even the mini-golf course, it is a fun time for all.
The base also offers a library, a thrift store, several banks and restaurants. It has several car washes, auto repair shops and gas stations. There are gyms, uniform shops and a full service post office.
If you like tinkering with cars, woodworking or ceramic, then check out the respective hobby shops, all located on board MCB Camp Lejeune. Also aboard the base are an Exchange Mall, a uniform shop and a garden center.
