Approximately 1000 people attended the Celebrate Hampstead Festival held on the Hampstead Village grounds. The successful event promoted awareness of the wonderful qualities of Hampstead and raised about $1,800 for the art, music, and drama classes in the Hampstead schools. In addition to the monies raised, a $500 scholarship for the best poster was given to Charles Bowden, a senior at Topsail High School.

“It was fabulous,” said Susan Forbes, Executive Director of the Greater Hampstead Chamber of Commerce. “Everyone was very happy with the outcome. This festival was started to give recognition to the arts and music programs at the Topsail Schools and showcase local talent. This was the second year and we doubled in size. We are already making plans for next year.”

“Thanks to everyone who contributed and there were far too many to mention but the
community became involved and it was a great way to pull together and show what Hampstead has to offer.”
